Ballytour A tour of historical Ballyshannon

In late 2002 Erne Enterprise carried out preliminary research int o establishing a walking tour of the town of Ballyshannon that would make full use of its history and streetscape. As the project evolved it came under the direction of the Erne Social & Business Development Group. This innovative project aimed at providing another activity for visitors to Ballyshannon during the main tourist season became known as Ballytour.

In order to make Ballytour a success, a training programme has been devised and this will take the form of a series of workshops. The following topics are offered to interested participants:

• Historical research of local historical characters and scriptwriting
• Period costume research design and making
• Character Acting

Ballytour greatly acknowledges the support of D.L.D.C. which through th eLeader+ programme will provide funding for the development of the project.
